My name is Chassidy “ChaCha” Green. I have been a part of the beauty world for 38 years. I am a third-generation hairstylist and the first makeup artist in my family. Also, I’m the first in my family to work behind the scenes in major motion picture as a makeup artist and hairstylist.
Since 2007 I have managed to balance working in the salon and working on set. I was scouted to work as a hairstylist and makeup artist on a film, called “Soul Men”, starring Bernie Mac, and Samuel L. Jackson, that was filmed in my hometown of Shreveport, LA. I was obsessed as a kid with fashion and old Hollywood. I would study actors as a child to see how deep they could get into character. Everything to do with fashion, I would try to re-create and research the designers and their inspiration. I would watch fashion shows, before and after makeovers, or just motion film to see the latest trends. I’ve always had a passion for the entertainment industry, but not as a fan. I felt like I was a part of it for as long as I could remember.
Fast forward to today, I’m now working as an artist at Salon Le Volume in Frisco Texas. Landing at this destination was truly divine. Prior to my transformation here transition here to Frisco, I had just wrapped up shooting a show called “Bass Reeves.” It is a Taylor Sheridan project and while filming the “writers’ strike” began. May of 2023 the writers in production collectively went on strike for their wages to be increased. In July 2023 the actors also went on strike as well, which caused all major production to be shut down. I knew I was going to have to go back to Old Faithful, which was the salon, my first career love. The timing and destination of Salon Le Volume coming into my life was divine. I’m proud of the choice I made to be a member of a great team. I thought it would be a big adjustment, but I am loving it.
Working in major motion film you must travel frequently which can be exciting. We filmed in so many cool locations all over the United States, or in front of green screens in a studio from time to time. My favorite part of working in production is studying the different periods of time. My favorite era of design is the 1950s, the fashion design from this period is unmatched. From the tight curls, victory rolls and polished makeup, I love incorporating these techniques into my creations. The fashion, hair, or makeup plays a big factor in what I bring to the table from the eras. Most people ask, “Who are some of your favorite people that you’ve met while working in film?”. The answer to that is Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. They are a power couple for sure! Just good wholesome down to earth people who are friends. I loved watching them interact with one another. It was so cute!
I am now in a different season and I’m glad I have made the choice to come back into the salon. I have a set schedule, a beautiful environment, and awesome clients that I said to take care of. I never thought I would say this, but I miss the routine of being in a salon setting. I’m able to express my more creative side versus just studying a specific look for film. I’m challenged every day to grow as an artist by each encounter and I love it. Officially I would like to introduce myself as a team member at Salon Le Volume. My name is ChaCha and I would love to take care of you as a client. I have a passion for creating signature looks for women. If you need make up or hair services, I am a one stop shop to have you prepared to conquer the world and look fabulous while doing so.
