Balayage is a French word that means “to sweep”.  This popular hair color technique sweeps or hand-paints hair lightener on  the surface of selected strands of hair without the use of foils. Foil Highlights are achieved when the hair is weaved out from a section of the head and a piece of aluminum foil is placed under the strands of hair then saturated with a hair lightener from root to end.
